PRENATAL YOGA TRAINING

This training is suitable for:
*Yoga Teachers who are planning to teach Prenatal Yoga Classes
 *Teachers who would like to learn safe and beneficial adaptations and modifications for prenatal students in their classes
*Health Professionals who work with pregnant women.  
*Yogis who would like to deepen their own personal knowledge
* Women who are pregnant and would like to develop a safe prenatal yoga practice
Note for those intending on teaching prenatal yoga classes:
 
Note:  In order to become a Certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher, students must also have also completed a recognized Basic Yoga Teacher Certification Course.

Name of Module:  Basic Prenatal Asanas - 20 Hours
Date:  June 22-23, 2013 
Times:  Saturday and Sunday 9 - 6
Fee:  $315 (includes gst) 
Instructor:  Kathleen Podiluk, E-RYT, RPYT, RYS, RPYS - International Yoga Alliance 
Description of training:  Students will receive a Prenatal Pose Manual, with training and practice of 30 basic prenatal asanas, as well as study of the benefits, contraindications, modifications and variations for prenatal yogis. Individuals who would like to attend this training to deepen their own personal knowledge and practice are welcome to attend. 
CEC's - Yoga Alliance 
On completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion for participation and attendance.

Date:  September 13-15, 2013 
Times:  Saturday and Sunday 9 - 6 pm

Description of training:   Continuing to build from the Basic Prenatal Asanas module, this will be training and practice specific to prenatal yoga classes: cueing, sequencing, transitions, pranayama, mantras, various teaching styles and practice teaching.  We will learn methods to design, develop and teach beneficial and adaptive, safe prenatal and post natal yoga classes.  Basic prenatal yoga anatomy and philosophy.   CEC's - Yoga Alliance
Prerequisite:  Prenatal Asana Basics 
On completion of Basic Prenatal Asanas and Teaching Prenatal Asanas, participants will receive a
Certificate of 40 Hours Prenatal Yoga TeacherTraining 

Note for those intending on teaching prenatal yoga classes: 
This is a continuing education course.  
In order to be a Certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher, students must also have also completed a recognized
Basic Yoga Teacher Certification Course.

Kathleen is a Registered Yoga Teacher Trainer, 200 Hour E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher), RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher), and Owner/Director of Namaskar Yoga, Registered Yoga School with the International Yoga Alliance (http://yogalliance.org/). Kathleen works at continuing education and on-going training in the varied aspects of yoga, anatomy, philosophy, health and well being. She is also Certified as a Fitness Instructor and Strength Trainer trained through the YMCA, YWCA, and SPRA, and is a regular speaker and presenter at Yoga and Fitness Conferences. Kathleen has been awarded the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award in Athletics. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of fitness and wellness, with over 5,000 documented hours of experience teaching yoga. Kathleen teaches with great care, integrity and respect.
